Indian politics

Politics

Politics refers to a set of activities associated with the governance of a country, or an area. It involves making decisions that apply to members of a group.

[1]
It refers to achieving and exercising positions of governance—organized control over a human community, particularly a state.

[2] The academic study focusing on just politics, which is therefore more targeted than general political science, is sometimes referred to as politology (not to be confused with politicology, a synonym for political science).

In modern nation-states, people have formed political parties to represent their ideas. They agree to take the same position on many issues and agree to support the same changes to law and the same leaders.

[3]
An election is usually a competition between different parties.

[4] Some examples of political parties worldwide are: the African National Congress (ANC) in South Africa, the Democratic Party (D) in the United States,
the Conservative Party in the United Kingdom, the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) in Germany  and the Bhartiya Janata Party in India.

Politics is a multifaceted word. It has a set of fairly specific meanings that are descriptive and nonjudgmental (such as "the art or science of government" and "political principles"), but does often colloquially carry a negative connotation.[1][5]

[6] The word has been used negatively for many years: the British national anthem as published in 1745 calls on God to "Confound their politics",
[7] and the phrase "play politics", for example, has been in use since at least 1853, when abolitionist Wendell Phillips declared: "We do not play politics; anti-slavery is no half-jest with us."

A variety of methods are deployed in politics, which include promoting one's own political views among people, negotiation with other political subjects, making laws, and exercising force, including warfare against adversaries.[9][10][11][12][13] Politics is exercised on a wide range of social levels, from clans  and tribes of traditional societies, through modern local governments, companies and institutions up to sovereign states, to the international level.

A political system is a framework which defines acceptable political methods within a given society. The history of political thought  can be traced back to early antiquity, with seminal works such as Plato's Republic, Aristotle's Politics and the works of Confucius.

General knowledge questions asked in competitive exams are not only based on the news and current affairs but also its wide branches which are expanded into different sections, such as history, full-forms of terms, universal facts and so on.
While the results of Assembly Elections are making waves on the Internet, a lot of students do not understand the full form of TRS, a political party which stood victorious in Telangana, or AIMIM, the opposition in the state.

India has three types of political parties

1. National Parties
2. State Recognized Parties
3. Unrecognized Parties

HONEST POLITICIAN OF INDIA

Indian politics has given birth to a lot of great politicians. No matter how deep the roots of corruption went into the system, these great and honest politicians in India have worked hard for the well being of Indian citizens. Due to their endless efforts, India is now emerging before the global community in just 70 years from its independence. Before giving your vote in the upcoming election, have a look at the most charismatic leader of the nation who has guided the citizens toward development and serve as an inspiration for all of us.

Sonia Gandhi

As one of the strongest political leader of the nation, Soniya Gandhi has remained in the office for a record time of 19 years. She was elected as the party president in year 1997 after 7 years of his husband Rajiv Gandhi’s (former Prime Minister of India) assassination. Even though she doesn’t have a political background, she served as the office hostess while her husband was termed as the Prime Minister. Her husband’s assassination drifted her far from the politics but the gradual deformation of the Congress party from 1991 to 1997 change her decision and she took command of the party in her own hands. This selfless act resulted in recovering the long-lost image of the Congress party in India. Following the path of her Mother in law and husband, she dedicatedly involved herself in the development of the country. She is often praised as one of the most honest politicians in India who played an important role in the implementation of National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme and the Right to Information Act.

Rahul Gandhi

In the list of the honest politician in India, Rahul Gandhi has managed to secure his position due to his transparent, bold and down to earth political approach. His modern thinking and ability to understand the global scenarios better than any other politician of the nation is the result of his education from the prestigious universities like Harvard and Cambridge. Before joining the politics, he worked in a leading management consultancy firm in London and later started his own company in India which gives him a corporate edge and a better understanding of global business ethics. Such qualities are very hard to find in Indian politics where senior leaders are hardly able to speak in front of foreign delegations due to lack of their education.

In 2004, Rahul Gandhi decided to make his debut in politics by contesting in 2004 Lok Sabha elections from his father’s constituency Amethi in Uttar Pradesh. Even though a lot of questions arise about his lack of political experience which can affect the winning streak in Amethi, he won the election with a major difference putting an end to all those allegations. He repeated his success in 2009 election by almost single-handedly leading the Congress party toward victory in Uttar Pradesh. He fielded a large number of youngsters in the election battle which no other party or politician was even able to think about which resulted in this one-sided victory of Congress.

Shashi Tharur

Shashi Tharur has emerged as one of the most intriguing leaders of current India. In the political system where a lot of politicians have failed to complete school education, Shashi Tharoor emerges as a well educated and honest politician of India serving the country as a diplomat and writer from the political stream. He is a true leader of the nation and was beloved by the entire population of the country. He grabs the attention of media from time to time due to his strong opposing views about different issues that have been plaguing the country. Unlike most of the other politicians on India, he has no fear to speak the truth about the malpractices happening in the country. Apart from that, he is also considered as the most tech-savvy politicians in the Indian political history making it possible for the entire nation to connect with him directly with his twitter account. It is believed that Shashi Tahrur begins his career in politics

 Narendra Modi

Even though he failed to remove corruption from the nation as well as from his own party BJP, he makes it to the list of honest politicians in Indian. Narendra Modi was one of the most honoured political leaders in India once but his poor decisions and irreverent approach have made people question about his credibility as the Prime Minister of the nation. On one hand, he is praised for drafting the policies like demonetization and GST in India which was a very bold act. On the other, he is criticized because he failed to execute any scheme successfully creating a huge economic loss and employment loss in the country. Although he was accused of the riots in Gujarat in the year 2002, he is never charged for corruption. Despite his number of failures as the Prime Minister of India, he has remained honest with his position and nation which is very unlikely as compared to his corrupt political party, BJP.

From the time he has taken the seat of Prime Minister, he has made tremendous efforts to improve the relation of India with other countries. It can be considered as his bad luck or a predetermined act by BJP that the nation has faced a lot of bank frauds in the last four years of his leadership. He has failed to maintain the GDP of the nation and it has touched its record low in the last couple of years. This fact may appear to you as quite a shock because the GDP just before his Prime Ministry was at a record high under the rule of Congress party led by Manmohan Singh. Even after all these failures, he is praised for his remarkable efforts for development of state of Gujarat as an industrial power of the nation.

Nitish Kumar

Belonging form the Janta Dal party, Nitish Kumar is one of the most honest politicians of India who is served as the Chief Ministers of Bihar as well as minister in Union Government of India. You may find it hard to believe that a person involved in the most corrupt political environment of the nation has successfully managed to maintain his image as one of the cleanest ministers in Bihar. His hard efforts made it possible for the state to recover from a massive economic collapse and bring down the corruption that was rapidly increasing in the Bihar government. Working toward the better education of the state, Nitish appointed over hundred thousand teachers to improve education standards and fast-tracked the development projects. In order to promote girls education, he starts a scheme of bicycle distribution for the girls who stayed in school which resulted in a steep increment in the number of girls in school and decrease in dropout rates. The best part about his leadership is that he brought crime under control in the state well known for its lawlessness and corrupt authorities.

These are some of the honest politicians in India who had worked hard for the betterment of its people. We can see that the 2019 election is going to be a close competition between BJP and Congress. The responsibility to choose an honest leader now relies on the shoulder of the citizen of India. The significance of this election can be measured by the fact that the country is still trying to recover for foolish execution of demonetization and GST bill by Narendra Modi and it is going to be a great responsibility for the upcoming leader to steer the nation these drastic situations toward new heights of development.

List of the most corrupt leader in Indian politics

As the 2019 elections race is gaining its pace, the fight for the gaining position in the central government has become more abrupt between Congress and BJP.

With the increase in a number of election campaigns, the controversies and accusations on members of both parties have also increased. We can easily see the social media and print media flooding with the news of the corrupt nature of the politicians that are taking part in 2019 elections. Both Congress and BJP are trying to gain people interest toward them by marketing the welfare done to the nation in their tenure. On the contrary, these parties are biting each other heads off by blaming them for corruption and injustice done to the nation by their leaders.
As the 2019 elections race is gaining its pace, the fight for the gaining position in the central government has become more abrupt between Congress and BJP. The election campaign and rallies are taking place as a full flagged movement by both parties to allure the Indian population to get their support in inning 2019 elections. As we can see, BJP is trying to gain votes by using the face value of Narendra Modi, who has brought some huge changes in Indian democracy in the last four years of his leadership. On the other hand, the young and dynamic leader Rahul Gandhi is representing the Congress. The political experience of Narendra Modi and the love on the heart of common people toward Rahul Gandhi has made this a close competition for the post of Prime Minister.
It can be easily seen that the demonization and Lokpal bill has no effect on the corrupt politicians of the nation. The somehow used these schemes for their own benefits mocking the government as well as a democracy of the nation. The silence of BJP government on the corruption issues is still a mystery. Most people believe this silence is due to the involvement of some of the most corrupt politician in India in the BJP party itself. These allegations seriously judge the ability of BJP to lead the nation in 2019 elections.
Another major reason that is fuelling the anger in the hearts of Indian citizens is that the country has suffered two of the biggest financial frauds in the last four years of Modi governance. Vijay Malya and Nirav Modi had successfully managed to commit a huge financial fraud and leave the country with immunity from BJP government. These frauds have shattered the banking system of the nation.
The upcoming elections will decide whether corruption will prevail or get abolished in Indian politics. Being the largest democracy of the world, every single vote matters for the future upbringing of the nation. As a smart voter, let’s take look at the most corrupt leaders in India before giving our vote.

Amit Shah:

The current President of the BJP party Amit Shah has managed to grab the attention of news headlines since his inception in politics. Not for the good deeds he has done for the nation, but his corrupt politics and association with criminals. He was accused of being instrumental in the extrajudicial encounter of Sohrabuddin Sheikh, his wife Kauser Bi and one of his associate Tulsiram Prajapati. According to the CBI report, Amit Shah was paid from two marble traders from Rajasthan to kill Sohrabuddin as he was threatening them and asking for hefty protection money. The encounter was staged at a farmhouse near Ahmadabad where the some police officials took Sohrabuddin, Kausar Bi and Tulsiram and shot them claiming that Sohrabuddin was an operative of Lashkar-e-Taiba operative.
Apart from that, Amit Shah is also accused for sidelining the police officials who testified against the Gujarat government in fake encounters cases and the 2002 riots. Additional DGP Kuldeep Sharma made an allegation that he had been demoted form police department to Gujarat State Sheep and Wool Development Corporation after he accused Amit Shah of taking a bribe of Rs 2.5 crore to assist in the b16

stairs design

stair

about the stair

a series of steps or flights of steps for passing from one level to another —often used in plural but singular or plural in construction a narrow private stairs— Lewis Mumford. 2 : a single step of a stairway.

Types of Stairs – Classification of stairs:

Stairs can be broadly classified into three types:

Straight stairs
Turning stairs
Continuous stairs

1. Straight stairs

Generally for small houses, available width is very retractable. So, this type of straight stairs are used in such conditions which runs straight between two floors. This stair may consists of either one single flight or more than one flight with a landing.

2. Turning stairs

Turning stairs are sub classified as:

Quarter turn stairs
Half turn stairs ( dog legged stairs)
Three – quarter turn stairs
Bifurcated stairs

3. Quarter turn stairs

A quarter turn stair is the one which changes its direction either to the right or to the left but where the turn being affected either by introducing a quarter space landing or by providing winders. In these type of stairs the flight of stair turns 90 degrees art landing as it rises to connect two different levels. So it is also called as L-stair. Again these quarter turn stairs are two types.

3.1. Newel quarter turn stairs

These type of stairs have clearly visible newel posts at the beginning of flight as well as at the end. At the quarter turn, there may either be quarter space landing or there may be winders.

3.2. Geometrical quarter turn stairs

In geometrical stairs, the stringer as well as the handrail is continuous without any newel post at the landing area.

4. Half turn stairs

In case of half turn stairs its direction reversed, or changed for 180o. Such stairs are quite common. Again these are three types.

4.1. Dog-legged stairs

Because of its appearance in sectional elevation this name is given. It comes under the category of newel stairs in which newel posts are provided at the beginning and end of each flight.

4.2. Open newel half turn stair

In this type of open newel half turn stairs, stair has a space or well between the outer strings. This is the only aspect in which it differs from the doglegged stair.

4.3. Geometrical half turn stairs

In case of geometrical half turn stairs the stringers and the hand rails are continuous, without any intervening newel post. These stairs may contains either with half space landing or without landing.

5. Three quarter turn stairs

The direction of stairs changed three times with its upper flight crossing the bottom one in the case of three quarter turn stairs. These stairs are may either be newel or open newel type. This type stairs are generally used when the vertical distance between two floors is more and as well as length of the stair room is limited.

6. Bifurcated stairs

Bifurcated stairs are commonly used in public building at their entrance hall. This has a wider flight at the bottom, which bifurcates into two narrower flights, one turning to the left and other to the right, at landing.it may be either of newel type with a newel post or of geometrical type with continuous stringer and hand rails.

7. Continuous stairs

This type of stairs neither have any landing nor any intermediate newel post. They are geometric in shape. These are may be of following types.

Circular stairs
Spiral stairs
Helical stairs
Circular stairs or spiral stairs are usually made either of R.C.C or metal, and is placed at a location where there are space limitations. Sometimes these are also used as emergency stairs, and are provided at the back side of a building. These are not comfortable because of all the steps are winders and provides discomfort.

Design calculation of steps

This question can be basic and you may know the answer, but it's always good to remember some elementary calculations that help us to streamline the design process.

As we know, a staircase consists basically of a series of steps, which in turn consist of a tread (the horizontal part, where the foot will rest) and a riser (the vertical part). Although it can vary in its design, each step must also have one or more landings, handrails, and a small nosing. The latter protrudes from the tread over the lower step, allowing to increase its size without adding centimeters to the overall dimensions of the staircase.

Check the effective formula developed by French architect François Blondel, which allows you to determine the correct dimensions of a comfortable and efficient staircase according to its use.

2 Risers + 1 Tread = 63-65 cm

The necessary space to reach these optimal dimensions is not always available, but it's recommended to approach them as much as possible.

A schematic example of a steep and low-transit staircase

(2 x 21) + (1 x 21) = 63 cm

Save this picture!
A schematic example of an optimal staircase

(2 x 18) + (1 x 28) = 64 cm

A schematic example of a loose staircase, preferably for outdoor use

(2 x 13) + (1 x 39) = 65 cm

Sample calculation of a staircase that should be 2.60 meters high

1. Calculate the number of steps that will be needed

Considering an ideal riser of 18 cm, the height of the space is divided by the height of each step. The result should always be rounded up:

260/18 = 14.44 = 15 steps

2. Calculate the height of each riser

The height of the space is divided by the number of steps that we have just obtained:

260/15 = 17.33 cm height for each riser

3. Calculate the width of the tread

Apply the Blondel formula:

(2 x 17.33 cm) + (1 x tread) = 64

Each tread will measure 29.34 cm

* The resulting staircase will have 15 steps of 29.34 cm of tread and 17.33 cm of riser

How to determine the width of the stairs?

Depending on the use and local regulations, a minimum width of 80 cm is recommended for stairs in single-family homes, and greater than 1.00 meters in public buildings, taking into consideration the tentative number of people who will use it. As a reference, according to the traditional book 'Architects' Data' by Ernst Neufert, in a staircase of 1.25 meters two people can go up and down at once, and in one of 1.85 meters 3 people can do it at the same time, with one appropriate distance of 55 cm between the person and the handrail.

After how many steps should a landing be included?

Ideally, a stairway shouldn't have more than 15 steps in a row. After 15 steps, a landing should be provided. It's recommended that a landing measure at least the same as 3 treads.
